At the Cyro Prison, RANSIK watches and is displeased at the fact FRAX used a robot to try and destroy the city... with getting a blast from RANSIK he is brought down to the floor where he finds the key to the X-Vault and happily finds it and takes a canister of the mutant he wants to unfreeze.
At the clock tower, KATIE peacefully writing in her journal, tells about how much she misses her family to TRIP... meanwhile CIRCUIT watches as he realizes the Raimei could have been of help. When asked to run a check of weapon systems in 2001 they realize Raimei never existed.
When KATIE is told everything including her dear family can be different she appears to be becoming terribly upset... Meanwhile at the prison sneakly FRAX unfreezes the mutant he had chosen from the X-VAULT.
Strange looking things appear all around citizens of the city which begin to seriously explode and cause chaos to the city... the mutant and FRAX appear to be enjoying this. At the tower CIRCUIT alerts of this attack, the Rangers immediately head off but TRIP notices KATIE behind but eventually convinces her to go with them.
The mutant is out on full assault to the city, blasting buildings, even helicopters into buildings for his pleasure... unfortunately the Rangers arrive just in time on their TIME JET... only to ensue and appear to be getting badly beat by this mutant even after attacks with their V-weapons.
The mutant leaving them down goes on to do more damage. Eventually the Rangers arrive only to get even more badly beat... When the mutant VEXICON appears to put people in trouble WES takes the blow...
The Rangers are thrown bombs from the mutant forcing them to demorph but this time KATIE's gone mad extremely down and even doubting their purpose in 2001... The other Rangers can't help but just stay quiet... With the city still under attack LUCAS is first to morph and go..
Then it's JEN who vows to capture RANSIK for the sake of ALEX. She helps LUCAS with a double attack on the mutant... Then it's TRIP who realizes this is the right thing to do and morphs. With KATIE mentioning she feels she got nothing to fight for WES tries and convinces her by telling her she's got everything to fight for and hands her the photo of her family and is off morphed.
KATIE examines carefully and realizes she does have a reason to fight and heads off to join the other Rangers... although a few fierce blasts enough to bring them down, the Rangers with their V-Weapons and KATIE hiding behind a bush... they all send blasts and with KATIE's blast help bring him down...
Being not enough.. the Rangers form the VORTEX BLASTER but this only makes him grow...
CIRCUIT sends the Flyers which form the TF Megazord Mode Red... the mysterious fellow once again sends the TIME SHADOW who gets fiercely beat... the TF Megazord Red gets it's saber destroyed. CIRCUIT tells that they have the power to defeat this mutant at their fingertips. They form the SHADOW FORCE MEGAZORD by combining both megazords.
With a TIME TARGET attack the mutant is shrunk back to small size... The Rangers are thrown off the megazord demorphing. They watch as the flyers and Shadow Winger head into the portal in the sky.. KATIE confident enough realizes as long as they keep fighting they will make it back to the future.
At the prison FRAX gets commended for an almost successful defeat to the Rangers with the mutant VEXICON. Meanwhile at the Clock Tower, everyone preparing for a special meal. KATIE holds a toast and tells that for now this is her home and that they all are her family.
